Breathtaking Batanes

After a week of anxiety due to vicious rains and typhoons, we arrived at the diminutive Basco aiport to a surprisingly sunny weather. I actually didn't mind the possibility of getting stranded due to weather, I just needed to cross it off so badly in my bucketlist! HAHA!
I was actually prepared to be cast away, I was even starting to form some lists of what to do if ever i get stuck in there for a while. My workmates were even joking to first find a pera padala outlet if in case I ran out of money. HAHA!
Moreover, this is my first solo domestic travel coz everyone's afraid of the bipolar weather so with a backpack in tow, I started my topsy turvy great adventure of traversing Batanes on my own :) but technically not alone coz I met super great people there. Brace yourselves for one hella nice story. *drool on the pictures, friends!

that's the propeller plane.too small yet comfortable.

I was actually sleepy before take off. I was supposedly seated on the window seat (D-trust me,request that side)  but the girl  beside me went ahead so I didn't complain. I can see the excitement in her face so after being seated for 5 minutes I started the "Ate, taga Batanes po talaga kayo?" and there I met one bubbly and perky college Ivatan girl who has so much love for her province that being away for 4 days makes her miss it big time. She then made kwento how beautiful their place is and all the fast facts i need to know. Thanks for the heads up Mafie! nice meeting you :)

WOAH! I feel like cursing already. Wala ko always gapamuyayaw pero this time daw ma singgit ko. KANAMI!!!

and there you have it, the famous stone airport :)

nasita pa ko for coming this near. hehe. sorry naman po, excited lang mag picture.

surreal!!! I'm here! safe and sound! with no trace of bagyo.
I feel like jumping up and down but controlled my self. I didn't know that the lodge offers a free airport service so imagine my surprise when I was greeted by a placard with a big Kai Abraham in it. shet turistang turista ang peg! I then hurriedly signed the tourist attendance and hopped on the van. kahiya! :P

Home away from home :)

After seeing the lovely lawn, I immediately knew that I'm going to love staying there. After the nice caretakers had me settled in my fan room (yey wala room mate!) and gave me the wifi password (naniwala na po ako sa forever dahil sa bagal ng internet sa Batanes,HAHA! but lucky us coz some branch wala daw talaga) I then received a msg from Kuya Felix of BISUMI if ever I want to join the 9am South Batan tour. that was a little before 8am and of course,GAME!

who cares about being sleepy, baka umulan pa the next day at wala akong picture. hehe!
I was picked up again by the van with Kuya JB Neyala as our tourguide and off we went to get Emsi (a bubbly Bicolana) and the partners Ate Che and Kuya Ryan (down to earth couple). I was quite apprehensive of the group tour but immediately felt at ease coz everyone seems so nice and excited.

To much beauty in one place!
South Batan has some of the most breathtaking landscapes. I was so blown away that I  couldn’t imagine how it became so pretty like this. I feel so lucky to start the tour with the most awesome view and this was actually my favorite among our 3 days agenda.

you know happiness? it's written all over my face.
