2014 Travel Jump shot Collection

i love collecting travel jumpshots! <3

i have this mantra of 'collect jumps, not things' whenever i go to different places.

and i usually don't like to go back to a place i've already been to because my goal is to visit as  many places as possible.the more, the merrier jumps!!!

some travelers collect key chains or magnets or shirts but i usually don't buy even one souvenir for myself.trust me,i'm a thrift one and if the budget requires no self buying,i'll gladly accept the challenge.i just want a jumpshot no matter how many dozen times we retake.yung tipong when i look at the camera,i'll check the picture and say,"this is it,perfect!"HAHA.

a stunning view with a unique jump is always enough for me.i'd giddily look back at the memories anyway, not things after the trip.(wink)

initially,i would have wanted a tumbling shot collection but the nonathletic in me couldn't even do a cartwheel thus i 'settled' for a jump instead.frustrated cheerleader?yeah, maybe,HAHA.

i now have countless jumpshots all over PH,with multiple shots in one city of course.some shots were got with one take but others would require a flanax and leg massage afterwards.sometimes,i had to jump around five or more times,so much so that when we got the perfect shot, other tourists were either smiling, grinning or with confusing looks.anong nangyayari sa batang itey?hehe.

every city i've visited and every tumbling shot has a story.and this time,i am going to feature the ones taken during my entire 2014 travel sojourn.

the perfect way to cap and bid goodbye to this awesome year!

12 months.12 places.12 jumps!here it goes...

1. January - Boracay

it has been our family tradition since 2008 to celebrate NYE at the island.the festive vibes, the grandeur fireworks and the joyful countdown at the seashore makes it a happy salubong to the brand new year.although,im the person in the family who is always the least excited one to go back to this place.(i know,i know, lower your eyebrows, okay?)i love the beach and the pristine white sand but i hate the commercialized look and the crowded aura.but i discourage you not!it is always a happy time to celebrate the new year at Boracay.once in your life you have to and you will not regret.just be careful with the drinks though.hangover's a beach bitch.

2. February - Antique

this is the most fast tracked trip we did around the north and south part of Antique.the picture was taken at the frangipani pathway that lined the lighthouse of Nogas Island.i already visit the island sometime during 2002 and it's nice that they were able to preserve its natural beauty especially the mangroves.we also had the most unique experience of dipping at the kawa hot bath (big big cauldron that the witches use in cooking people.HAHA joke) in Tibiao and trekking at Bugtong bato falls 1,2,and 3!if nature tripping ang bet nyo,eto na yun!

3. March - Bacolod
Hi!welcome to the Hobbit House!and no,i'm not in New Zealand!it took me for a while to wait for the hobbit to come home but he didn't,he doesn't know were Bacolod is.HAHA.Campuestohan Highland Resort is located between the mountain ranges of Negros Occidental.it was nearly summer when we went there but the place feels chilly and sunny at the same time!it looks clean, fresh and relaxing.i must agree, this picture got one heap of a mountain view.

4. April - La Union

what better way to celebrate the Holy Week than go in La Union?it was lovely and laidback.i feel like a surfista (feeling lang), turista, and of course, negrita!super init!i could have fried eggs outside.i would have regret the going part because it was too crowded at the bus stations but it was all worth it.Greece is my dream to go spot abroad and Thunderbird Resort didn't disappoint!i love their Santorini inspired whitewashed villages!this picture is also memorable coz i almost lost my phone after leaving it at the top of a trash can near that awesome view.always remember:mas importante ang jumpshot more than anything.nah!it's the other way around.HAHA!

5. May - Baler

hooray!another surf town!i don't know what came into me but i went nuts over going surfing thus we went to Aurora and surfed for the first time!move over Kate Bosworth,it's my time to shine.HAHA peace!i will tell you a secret and it's not going to be a secret anymore: among the 12 jumps, this one is my favorite!i don't know why!!!maybe because i enjoyed a lot.soft waves and surfboards everywhere!plus we had fun touring the mother falls,600 year old balete tree, lukso lukso islets, diguisit beach, museo de baler, dona aurora house, baler church and hanging beach.definitely Baler Bliss!

6. June - Quezon

this is it!this is sooo it!the jump that almost got me frustrated after so many failed attempts!HAHA!my mother (best travel buddy) would always capture my jumps in one click but i don't know what happened here!what went wrong with your magic Ma?hehe.anyways, buffet lunch by the waterfalls restaurant is amazing!who wouldn't enjoy delish pinoy dishes while feet dipping from the cool water falls?no one.if you want to bask on Filipino culture (carabao cart ride while they sing kundiman) and experience the life in a real Hacienda,Villa Escudero is the place to be!i loooove museums and their AERA museum topped my expectations!

7. July - Rizal

welcome to the Art Capital of the Philippines!we enjoyed visiting this artsy fartsy unique place in Rizal town.got to see the amazing works of our national artists at the art gallery in their streets, jumped at the man made Petroglyphs which looks like ordinary rock engravings but something worth going because of the tunnel, drooled over the paintings inside the Blanco family museum and ended the day eating fried frogs (insert gag here) at the famous Balaw-Balaw specialty Restaurant!appreciate beauty, appreciate art!

8. August - Hong Kong

can you believe that i almost forgot to take a jumpshot?!!yes :( i almost did and this was taken before our boarding time.this was by far the longest leave i got this year and an unexpected one.2 weeks to be exact!i was back since my last visit wayback 2010.i went back  not for vacation but leisure work.private duty nurse for 11 days and my first solo travel abroad.

9. September - Siargao

if i have to pick one word that would describe Siargao,it is definitely STUNNING.amongst any domestic destinations that we've been to,this little island has the best aerial view.EVER.all passengers (local and foreign) were looking at the window,as in everyone, before landing coz of the lush view.all places that we explored are a thumbs up: dedon island, gamay island, daku island, naked island, the boardwalk, and cloud9!lucky us coz we were able to watch the 20th international surfing cup!the waves are strong and the super surfers were amazing!pro na pro.shoutout even to our locals that showed their skills.imagine my sadness (seriously) when we left that lovely place, beyond painful than my current heartbreak.charing!

10. October - Surigao

what i remember mostly about Surigao is their mining sites that makes me still believe that our country is definitely rich of natural resources.i also enjoyed our stay here because of our gracious hosts (Dotillos family) who served the yummy and crispy 'danggit'.ang sarap sarap sarap ng danggit nila!that's all, bow.HAHA!i'll definitely try to visit this place again because we missed the Bucas Grande group of islands which houses the stingless jellyfishes.

11. November - Oslob

scratched one off my bucketlist: swimming with the whalesharks!!!and yes, there it is,trying its best not to eat me.HAHA.they're harmless and big and peaceful.i almost doesn't like to go to the zoo anymore because most animals are caged and it somehow defeats their freedom but it's definitely way different in Oslob!the whalesharks are free to roam around the open sea and they're just near the shore.dipped also to Tumalog falls and visited museo oslob, cuartel and baluarte.one great experience this was,YOLO indeed!

12. December - Roxas

happiness is going to the beachside and eating lotsa lotsa seafoods even if i'm allergic to crabs and shrimps.welcome to the seafood capital of the Philippines where you can eat the tastiest and yummiest oysters in town!i am drooling whenever i recall the fat and big oysters!this place also houses the biggest bell (made of 70 sacks of coins!) in Asia located at Pan-ay Church.im thankful to my foodtrip buddy Doc Paulette for helping me complete the last jump in my puzzle this year.

there.the 12 of them!

i definitely got more than what i hoped for for this year.patched the yearning to get a breather even just once a month from the stressful environment at the clinic, get past over a break up and used travel as a therapy, and lastly, tasted & saw more of the different cultures that our country has to offer.it's definitely more fun in the Philippines!

and with all of these, one thing i really learned from getting away this year is that some things we're not meant to happen but were meant to be accepted - here's to leaving them all in 2014 and welcoming 2015 with more jumps!!!

you cannot always wait for the perfect time, sometimes, you must dare to JUMP.being fearless isn't about 100% not fearful,it's being terrified but you JUMP at the adventure anyway.
